The new ISPO Education Standards for Prosthetic/Orthotic Occupations respond to the evolving needs of persons with disabilities and the aging population worldwide. The number of people in need of assistive products is growing steadily, yet there is a significant shortage in competent workforce and available training programmes.

The Education Committee of ISPO developed the Education Standards to ensure that prosthetic/orthotic education programmes around the world have the appropriate infrastructure and resources to develop students into entry-level practitioners that will provide quality prosthetic/orthotic services.
